La Belle Epoque

I got really inspired by our Literature Course which deals with La Belle Epoque, so today( except the fact that I took a day off) I did these:

Good Morning!

Aw, sunny morning in Bucharest! It's been so long since we've last seen our city so bright. It is impressive how sunshine can make me smile and feel so good. How does a great day begin? With a cup of coffee and milk accompanied by some awesome articles from Elle and Vogue.
   Have a wonderful day!
   Love, A.

What do you think of my coffee cup?

Iconic Dresses

I guess that you are now familiar with my " Audrey Hepburn Obsession", but have I ever mentioned that besides writing I have this strong passion for visual arts? I started drawing when I was 2 and continued doing that until present. You may predict that I usually draw clothing( recently my mother has found a sketchbook of mine full of fashion sketches from when I was 5-6 to 7-8), but I also enjoy painting, especially in summer, when everything is calm, peaceful and colorful. This is a sketch that I made last summer; it contains the very well known outfits from  Breakfast at Tiffany's ( the Givenchy dress especially), the beautiful white dress with black floral motifs from Sabrina, also designed by Hubert de Givenchy and the legendary ascot dress designed by Cecil Beaton for Miss Hepburn in My Fair Ladyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeiIE-Ft_b8 ) and the wedding dress from the same movie ( the last two dresses are unfinished yet). I hope you will like my sketch.
   See you soon,
   Love, A.

The Oscars in 1954. 2013 commercial

These days are full of " Oscars". I cannot take it any longer unless I discuss a little on one of the best Academy Awards looks which belongs to Audrey Hepburn. Audrey received her statue for the Best Actress for " Roman Holiday" wearing the famous white floral dress, designed by Hubert de Givenchy.

Technology managed to bring Audrey back to present. This is a very cute commercial, it seems more like a tribute to the actress than a chocolate ad. I appreciate the fact that they have chosen this marvellous icon to interpret the feminine role, that character looks really close to Audrey, but no one will ever equal the one and only Miss Hepburn. Still...enjoy:

Marion Dior

One of the most feminine, delicate, elegant, stylish and refined person on the red carpet is " Lady Dior" or Marion Cotillard. Here are some photos of her at some this year's red carpet events, in which, of course, she is wearing Dior Haute Couture:

Review on last night's red carpet

If I were to choose what to wear at the 85th Academy Awards I would have worn Naomi Watt's dress, which makes her look so glamorous or Louise Roe's one, which is so fresh and delicate. These were my favourite... but I think that the Zuhair Murad dress that Catherine Zeta-Jones wore would have fit me better :D.
Catherine Zeta-Jones looks so genuine, so stylish, better to say, she looks like an Oscar statue ... I must admit that I was not really into Reese Witherspoon's dress, neither into Nancy O'Dell's one... Reese has such a lovely figure that deserves more attention, that dress fades her ... about Nancy O'Dell, in my opinion, that dress is really inappropriate.
Almost everyone looked amazig last night, I really enjoyed watching the Red Carpet Live on E!.
In conclusion, my best and worst dressed are:

Best Dressed:

Amanda Seyfried
 Catherine Zeta-Jones
 Naomi Watts
 Samantha Barks

Worst Dressed:

Brandi Glanville
 Nancy O'Dell
 Reese Witherspoon

   See you soon,
